Stardust USA makes Seattle its official US home as 35 teams lock in for the Stardust Challenge

SEATTLE, 23 September 2026 — Stardust USA LLC is making Seattle its official United States headquarters. The move puts the company's US home in the same city as Stardust 2026, its flagship two-day event on 2 and 3 November, which is the worldwide finale of the Stardust Challenge. Thirty-five teams are already registered for the Challenge, from 18 countries. Applications close on Wednesday 30 September. A week of open registration remains. Stardust Inc. is a Canadian space education company. Stardust USA LLC is its US entity. Seattle is where the US work will sit: the November event, the Challenge finale, and the partners already in that city. "Seattle is the right home for this," said Jason Michaud, founder of Stardust. "The Challenge is already running. Thirty-five teams from eighteen countries have signed up, and the door closes on the 30th. If you want to be in the room, or on the stream, or behind a team, this is the week." THE EVENT, AND THE COMPETITION Stardust 2026 runs Monday 2 November and Tuesday 3 November in the Seattle area, and is streamed worldwide, so no team needs a flight or a visa to be on the same stage. Day one is the talks and the Challenge abstracts, presented by the teams themselves. Day two is the judges with the winning teams, then the Stardust Awards. The Stardust Challenge is open to K-12, university, educators and individuals, worldwide, on a free Odyssey account. Eight categories. Teams register at stardustinc.ca/challenge/. Of the 35 teams in today, 17 are K-12. A WEEK LEFT Challenge team registration closes Wednesday 30 September 2026. Submissions close 12 October. Finalists are named 26 October. The finale is 2 and 3 November.
