World Space Week runs 4 to 10 October every year. The United Nations declared it in 1999, marking the launch of Sputnik 1 on 4 October 1957 and the Outer Space Treaty coming into force on 10 October 1967. The 2026 theme is Rocket Revolution.

World Space Week is coordinated by the World Space Week Association with the support of the United Nations. Stardust's founder and CEO, Jason Michaud, is the World Space Week National Coordinator for Canada, appointed by the Association in August 2026. Stardust is also a participating organizer.

This is open to every country, not only Canada. Any organiser anywhere can run an activity through Stardust: we provide the platform, the materials and a live event page, free, and we help you register it on the official global calendar at worldspaceweek.org. Every organiser and participant gets 90 days of Stardust Plus, and organiser teams get a free team dashboard with planning space, chat, event pages and mentors.
